Kyle Beard Set For Texas Dirt Track Championship

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Trumann, AR – “The Silent Assassin” Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas will make his debut in the “Lone Star State” this weekend as he travels to Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track in Fort Worth, Texas for the Texas World Dirt Track Championship.

Beard Motorsports was last in action two weeks ago as they traveled to Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Tennessee on Saturday, February 14th for the 7th Annual Winterfest 40. With 42 Super Late Models signed in for battle, Kyle qualified 7th in his group, which earned him a 5th starting position in his heat race qualifier. He would get the jump on the initial start up to the 3rd position, but it would be waved off as a car spun at the front of the pack. As Kyle passed the spun car contact was made on his right rear tire. This contact would come back to haunt Beard four laps later as he battled for the final transfer spot. Exiting turn two on lap four, Kyle’s rear end would lock up as a result of the earlier contact. The team would work hard to get the car fixed for the b-main event, but would run out of time. As a result, the team’s bad luck continued, and Kyle did not get a chance to race his way into the show.

This weekend, the team will make the long tow to the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track for the Texas World Dirt Track Championship. The state-of-the-art, 3/8 mile oval will host an Open practice session on Friday night, February 27th, which will be held in conjunction with an Open Wheel Modified program. On Saturday, February 28th the Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) Super Late Models will sanction a $3,500 to win/$400 to start event. The program will consist of heat races, b-mains, and a 40 lap feature. For more information, please visit

Kyle Beard would like to thank his sponsors including KB Transport, Gary Beard Trucking, Samuel’s Performance Engines, JFR Graphics, Bill Frye Motorsports, KC Motorsports LLC, and Marketing Services. Beard Motorsports is always looking for more sponsors, and anyone, who may be interested, can find more information at

Top Five Finish For Tony Knowles at GVS

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Tyrone, Georgia – Tony Knowles entered the 12th Annual Bama Bash at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama over the weekend in his #26 RSD Enterprises/SAE Parts/Rocket Chassis/Custom Race Engine Super Late Model, and by the time that the dust settled on Sunday’s main event, he was credited with a 5th place finish.

Thirty-one Super Late Models signed in for the event on the fast, red clay, oval. In time trials, Tony qualified fourth fastest, which earned him the outside front row starting position for the first heat race. In the 15 lap event, Knowles would finish a close second to the fast qualifier, Ray Cook, which resulted in him starting fourth in the 75 lap, $7,500 to win/$500 to start feature on Sunday afternoon. He had high hopes for the event, but as is typical for daytime events, there was only one good groove for the
feature. As a result, Tony would fall in line in the 5th position, and that’s where he would finish at the checkered flag. The top five finish marked his second top five in his first four events of 2009.

TKR will travel to Boyds Speedway in Chattanooga, Tennessee this Saturday, February 28th to enter the Cabin Fever 40 at the racy, ¼ mile oval. The 40 lap event is slated to pay $3,000 to win. Tony opened the 2009 season at the facility and came away with a 5th place finish. For more information on the event, please visit
