Ozark’s Area Racers Reunion and American Arenacross Tour this Weekend!

Wheatland, Missouri -  Join Lucas Oil Speedway this Saturday, Jan. 4th for the 27th Annual Ozarks Area Racers Reunion and on Friday & Saturday, Jan. 3rd & 4th for the Motorhead Events Arenacross Tour at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. The events will take place at the Fairgrounds West E-Plex and Fairgrounds Arena respectively. “These are both great events as the reunion honors those that have paved the way for all of us to enjoy the sport we love in this area and the Arenacross Tour is a great platform for both youngsters and adults alike to enjoy some of the best motocross action in the region.” commented Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson. Lucas Oil proudly supports the efforts of the Ozarks Area Racer’s Foundation and congratulates this years inductees as several honoree’s will be enshrined. The Legends award recipients include Tommy Joe Pauschert, Wayne Woody, Bob Tegarden, and George Baxter. The Pioneer Award inductees include Mike Clark, Louis Gotschall, Stanley Shobe, and Don & Billie Gibson. In addition to the Legends and Pioneers, all area track champions will be honored including 2013 Lucas Oil Speedway Weekly Racing Series Champions; Jason Russell, Terry Schultz, Brian Schutt, and Kris Jackson. Lucas Oil Speedway along with the Lucas Oil MLRA will have a booth in the trade show area with 2014 schedules available and FREE Ticket Giveaways as well as printed rules for all (4) weekly racing series classes. The 2-seat Lucas Oil/MAVTV/ProtectTheHarvest.com late model will be on display in the show car area along with J. D. Hubert’s ULMA Late Model and Jon Sheets’ USRA Modified.

Tickets are available at all area O’Reilly Auto Parts Stores, Ron’s Racing Collectibles, and Greene County Damaged Freight and Food Sales at 2743 West Kearney in Springfield. Advanced tickets are $15 for Adults with youth 12 and under FREE. Adult Tickets will be $20 at the door. Doors open 4:30pm with the awards ceremony set to get underway at 7:00pm. On Friday and Saturday, January 3rd and 4th, the American Arenacross Tour presented by Lucas Oil returns to Springfield’s Ozark Empire Fairgrounds Arena just east of the E-Plex. Rounds 5 and 6 of the 10 race series includes both Pro and Amateur racing both nights!

Plus there will be a wild FMX show starring United FMX and Brett Que both nights. Fans can also register to win a FREE BMX bike that will be given away each night plus watch the Pros do battle for over $3500 in purse money per night and all the kids in attendance can take part in the traditional “Kids Foot Race”.

Practice starts at 4:00pm on Friday, January 3rd and at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 4th. Spectator doors open at 6 PM. Advance Tickets are $8 for kids (3-11) and $15 for Adults. Tickets at the door are $10 for kids (3-11) and $17 for adults. Advanced tickets are available online at www.MotorheadEvents.com. Pit Passes are $20 (spectators will need a pit pass if arriving earlier than 6pm.

USMTS readying for 2014 campaign, Gulf Coast Border Region opener Feb. 6 in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -—The 16th season for the United States Modified Touring Series and quest for the 2014 USMTS National Championship kicks off at the South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-8, for the first of four straight weekends along America’s warm southern border.

The series then moves to the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, for the 5th Annual Texas Spring Nationals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-15.

From there, the series treks to the El Paso Speedway Park for two nights on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22, before heading a few minutes up the road to the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28 and March 1.

Each of the three-day shows will by $2,000 to win Thursday, $3,000 to win Friday and $4,000 to win Saturday. The two-day clash in El Paso will pay $2,000 and $3,000 to win, respectively.

The USMTS has visited the Royal Purple Raceway at least once in each of the last seven seasons. The series’ lone journey to the South Texas Speedway came in 2007 with Jason Hughes and David Horner taking the wins on the first two nights before rain thwarted the finale of the tripleheader.

This will be the first-ever visit by the USMTS to El Paso and Las Cruces, but tracks host the similar USRA Modifieds during their weekly Friday and Saturday night programs throughout the year, as well as some well-attended special events that routinely draw the best dirt modified aces on the planet.

The February swing of races will also serve as one of four USMTS regions for 2014 with its own lucrative points fund, so by the end of the night on March 1 the USMTS Gulf Coast Boarder Region champion will be crowned and the first group of drivers will be qualified for the 2014 Hunt for the USMTS National Championship.

The regional champion will earn at least $5,000 for winning the title while more than $200,000 in prize money will be doled out during the 24-day period. Each of the four USMTS regions will once again pay $5,000 to win and will pay the top 15 spots while the 2014 USMTS National Champion will earn at least $20,000 at season’s end.

Wheatland, Missouri – With the 2014 racing season looming in the not too distant future, Officials with Lucas Oil Speedway are pleased to launch the all-new www.LucasOilSpeedway.com. “This is the first new website that we have had in several years and it was well worth the wait.” commented Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson. “From the bold new graphics to the ease of navigation, I think our fans will really enjoy the browsing experience as we approach the 2014 racing season.” continued Robinson.

The new online home for Lucas Oil Speedway features all of the latest speedway news, videos, photos, results, points standings and upcoming event information, plus the complete detailed 2014 event schedule.

Drivers can find complete rules online for all four of our weekly racing series classes including the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks, and the Tri-Lakes RV USRA B-Mods. Drivers can also download all the necessary required forms required for 2014 so that you they can be filled in prior to the first event and sent into the track.

Big Frog Motorsports Bags Lucky #13 Win to Close 2013

Middleburg, Florida – It may have come via unexpected circumstances, but never-the-less Big Frog Motorsports was able to claim their thirteenth win of 2013 on Saturday in their final event of the season.

Mark Whitener was eager to claim the $2,000 win in the Florida State Championship at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) on Saturday night in his #58 Big Frog Motorsports/Dave’s Towing/B&B Produce Late Model. However, Whitener caught a flu bug earlier in the week, which ultimately forced him to the hospital. With Mark not available the team contacted good friend, Ivedent Lloyd Jr. to pilot the entry, and he would prove to be a great choice.

Lloyd Jr. started his outing by storming from the 6th starting spot in his heat race to claim the win. After drawing the pole for the feature Ivedent went on to lead flag-to-flag to score the victory, which came over Dalton Myers, Kyle Bronson, Scott Lagasse Jr., and Carter Stokes.

Virginia Motor Speedway to be the new home of the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship

Jamaica, VA – Officials of both Virginia Motor Speedway and Fastrak Racing are proud to announce that Virginia Motor Speedway will host the 2014 $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship on October 2 – 4, 2014.

“The success of the Fastrak Racing engine rules package was the main reason we have introduced the Pro Late Model division to our weekly line-up and we are excited to bring the division’s marquee event to our facility for 2014,” commented track owner Bill Sawyer.

Sawyer added, “Adding this event should also help in growing our new Aaron’s Pro Late Model division and offer our competitor’s a chance to compete for a large paycheck at the end of the season.”

This year’s Fastrak World Championships will have a new and improved format that will include a $10,000 to win Fastrak Northeast Regional Race-Off as well as a $10,000 to win Fastrak Southeast Regional Race-Off before heading to Virginia Motor Speedway for the final $20,000 World Championship event. Should someone win all three events that person will pocket an additional $10,000 bonus, making it a $50,000 total payday. All three events will be paid each night of the World Championships.

It has already been announced that the Northeast Regional Race-Off will be contested at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV on September 18 – 20, 2014. A venue and date for the Southeast Regional Race-Off will be announced in the next few weeks.
