Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Sanction Event at Paducah International Raceway

Corona, CA (December 14, 2008)- Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series officials have announced a new stop on the 2009 tour, Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY. Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Paducah International Raceway have agreed to sanction an event in 2009 scheduled for May 2nd, paying $10,000 to win.

“We look forward to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series coming to Paducah,” stated Promoter Bob Sargent, “the Lucas Series is one of the most asked about series from our fans, and we are fortunate to have a weekend that works out well with our schedule and theirs, so that we can bring them to the speedway.”

Paducah International Raceway was built in 1972 and quickly rose to become one of the elite facilities in the region. In November 2005, Cup Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Kenny Schrader, and Midwest Promoter Bob Sargent purchased PIR. In 2006, former Cup Champion, Tony Stewart, joined in the partnership.

“We are definitely excited to have Paducah added to our schedule, especially to be part of the 2009 ‘Road to Wheatland,” stated Series Director Ritchie Lewis, “it is an exciting place to watch a race and definitely one of the most competitive tracks in the country, and I can’t wait to bring our show into the mix”

The event scheduled for May 2nd, 2009 will be the first ever appearance of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in history. It
will also become the final stop on the 2009 “Road to Wheatland” leading up to the 3rd Annual “SuperClean Diamond Nationals”.
