Ashland, WI, After some discussion amongst the track’s board members and staff at the annual Car Show & Swap Meet at FastLane Motorsports on Saturday, it was decided that the season-opening night for the 2013 season at the ABC Raceway will be pushed back one more week, to May 25.
The reasoning for the decision was simple – the facilities have simply been too wet to work on in recent weeks, and although warmer weather is expected for the upcoming week, the Raceway staff feels that an additional week of work will be needed to get the entire facility ready for fans and racers to enjoy.
On Saturday, May 25, Northern Wisconsin Fence of Catawba will present the first full night of the Raceway’s 49th season, with exciting stock-car racing action in all five regular weekly classes – WISSOTA-sanctioned modifieds, super stocks and Midwest modifieds, plus the track’s own pure stocks and six-cylinders. Hot laps begin at 6:15 pm, and the first green flag of the night is scheduled to be thrown at 7. Adult tickets are just $10 each, and kids ages 12 and under are welcome for free with a paid adult admission.
The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. “Race Night” will air Saturday on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, and on www.wbszfm.com, from 4:30-6 pm with up-to-date track news and weather information.
