(Warrensburg, Missouri) Central Missouri Speedway continues its countdown towards an all-new race season and preparing for one of the long-standing off-season events, the annual racers auction, at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The event begins on Saturday, January 20th at the Mathewson Exhibition Center, located at 2503 West 16th Street, Sedalia, Missouri 65301.
Drivers may register at this event on day one, Saturday, and save $10 on registration. Printed car class and track rules, schedules, and general information will be available at the auction. Participating drivers are reminded they may pickup their 2017 race season 1099 tax forms at the auction. Those forms not picked up at the event will be mailed out on a later date. Track personnel will assist drivers with 2018 track registration and questions on Saturday, January 20th only, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the auction. Drivers unable to make it to the auction may access the registration form at www.centralmissourispeedway.net under the “Drivers” tab and send the form in using the address information provided on the form.
The track is pleased to announce in 2018, registered drivers will receive a discount on special event entries. This includes track specials for Modifieds, Street Stocks, Midwest Mod-Lites, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks throughout the season. Registration is $50 per driver, per class, if received by March 1, 2018, after this date, registration increases to $60.
A recently announced change for next year’s schedule will bring smiles to the B-Mod drivers as the track will host a two-night special event paying $1,000 to the winner each night over the Labor Day weekend. Each night’s purse is over $5,400 in payout for the booming car class.
Earl and Susan Walls, who begin their 23rd year as owners and promoters in 2018, recently put the finishing touches on their purse structure for the new season after previously announcing a significant boost in the payout for Modified drivers. Now, the Walls are pleased to announce that nearly $300,000 will be paid out next season from weekly racing throughout the year with an additional $144,000 in special event payout going to participating drivers during the 2018 season.
The Walls wish to remind drivers and teams that although Modified and B-Mods will carry the USRA sanctioning banner in 2018, CMS will not utilize USRA for tire testing and will conduct its own testing. The Walls stated, “We will will use our own equipment for tire testing and act accordingly. In doing so, we know everyone is treated equal and fair.”
CMS is building its marketing and business partners for the fast-approaching race season. There are several ways in which businesses, both large and small, may become involved with the speedway to reach new and loyal customers. Car class sponsorship, presenting race night sponsors, special event sponsors, driver roster partners, website partners, and billboard advertisement opportunities are all possibilities for CMS partners to reach customers each week throughout the season.
The track has a solid rapport with its business partners and includes their information throughout the season via press and media releases and most importantly, announcers use every opportunity to talk about sponsors while on the track PA system before and during race nights. CMS cares about its business partners and shares information with race fans and drivers. For additional business partner information, contact Susan Walls at 816.229.1338.
