Rice Lake WI – One of the favorite events for both race car drivers and crews and their fans are the annual preseason car shows. Whether held in Malls, car dealership parking lots or elsewhere, they give the race fans a chance to get up close and personal and check out the race cars as well as meet the drivers and their families.
Such is the case with the drivers and fans of the Rice Lake Speedway. A long standing tradition will again take place when the cars roll through the Cedar Mall entry way on Wednesday night, April 5 for their annual presentation for the fans to see what new and exciting things are in store for 2018.
The cars will be on hand through Sunday, April 8th at the Cedar Mall and cars that race in all five classes at the speedway are expected to be in attendance. Many drivers have new racing machines for the 2018 season and with a number of drivers switching classes for the upcoming season, the Mall car show should provide some interesting surprises. The cars will be on display during regular Mall hours and fans are encouraged to bring their cameras and get some pictures before the first injuries to the sharp looking machines are inflicted on the track.
Officials of the Rice Lake Speedway are also expected to be on hand to answer any questions about the upcoming season and schedules for the new season will be available.
The first on track activity is scheduled for April 11th and 12th with a pair of practice nights planned at the track before the 66th season opener which is slated for Saturday night, April 14th. Track officials remain optimistic that the weather will break soon, Spring will arrive in full force and the track can be properly prepared so that racing can begin on April 14th .
