Bailey, Clancy, Hanes, Masoner and Whitney Lead Supreme at Miller Lite Modified Madness!

To get things started US 36 Raceway would have a heartfelt opening ceremony paying respects to all our fallen heroes on this Memorial Weekend that paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Let us never forget that the cost of freedom is not free and let us keep in our hearts and prayers those that gave their lives for this freedom we relish and the families they left behind to grieve.

Starting off the night’s racing action were the always exciting and entertaining E-modified division. Thirteen-year-old Destyn Whitney #58 would battle his way to the front and never look back on his way to Lake Road Warehouse Winners Circle for his first ever feature win at US 36 Raceway. Destyn would be challenged by the two heat race winners Josh Adkins #91J, who would place second and Cade Richards #1R who would notch another great finish coming home third. Fourth would see the veteran driver Gary Ainsworth #14 again charge through the pack to the front of the field with a late race charging #28 of Justin Marrant placing fifth.

Pure Stocks would see Conner Masoner #47X win both heat race and feature in this night of competition. Masoner would have the field covered as great racing ensued behind the winner. The Jamesport Mafia of Shawn Huston #540 and CJ Turner #91 would go back and fourth all feature with Huston taking that battle placing second holding Turner to place third. Fourth would see the Triple Nickel #555 of Beau Wells with Chester Kaufman racing his way to fifth.

IMCA Sport Mod would be high in number and see a B feature that would set the field at twenty cars. Nic Hanes #9H and Clint Baker #17X would start side by side in the front row and would race that way for the first two laps until Hanes to take the point. As heat winner Hanes would continue to lead, Doug Keller #7 would creep into the picture to challenge but be forced to settle for second as the Wild Child Nic Hanes would pick up his second win in as many weeks on the high banks adding to his point lead. Third place would go to a very fast Steven Clancy #12X with Baker slipping to place fourth. Heat winner Tyler Cadwallader #69ER would have one of

his best runs to date in his first season behind the wheel of a Sport Mod placing fifth. Other heat race winners were Steve Starmer #11s and JJ Baumli #46X who were both in the mix for the front entire feature.

IMCA Stock Cars would not disappoint the crowd in attendance as they would race side by side and wheel to wheel the entire feature. Heat winner Chad Clancy #21X and other heat winner Dean Wray #77 would battle for the top spot lap after lap until Clancy would make the move and take the lead. Wray would continue to challenge but to no avail as Clancy would pick up his second win in as many weeks parking it in Lake Road Warehouse Victory Lane. Wray would place a close second with the ever-present Blake Peeler #292 charging to the front placing third. Brad Whitney #X9 would end the feature fourth with Calvin Teel #55T racing his way to fifth.

IMCA Modified would charge to the track and not see the caution in their outstanding feature race as the fireworks would blast overhead on the start. Chad Clancy #21C, doing double duty would charge to the front and set the pace early holding of all challengers. As the race progressed, heat race winner Shayne Bailey #7 would find the groove and work his way past Clancy taking the lead to never relinquish in route to his second win of 2018 at US 36 Raceway. Cory Wray #69N would have a fast hot rod and move to second for the night with Clancy fading to place third. Fourth would go to Zach Sanders #69 that would come from the back to the front with other heat winner Shadren Turner #17T ending the night’s racing action placing fifth.

US 36 Raceway would like to thank Hanes racing for donating the bikes given away during Intermission and the American Flags given to the kids for opening ceremony. Congratulations to Brionna Whitham and Brennon Logston on winning the bikes, enjoy. We would also like to thank drivers Carson Masoner, Shadren Turner, Tyler Cadwallader and CJ Turner for carrying our flags in tonight’s opening. I would like to thank all the drivers for coming up before, during and after Intermission signing autographs, giving away pictures and stickers to the kids and adults and I’ll say it again, we have the very best of the best both fans and drivers at US 36 Raceway! Thank You!

See everyone next Friday Night for more great action as we put the fun in racing!!!
