(Warrensburg, Missouri) The Second-Annual Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) Street Stock Showdown, ‘The Triple S’ at CMS, takes place this Friday and Saturday, September 21st and 22nd. Street Stock drivers will compete in three rounds of heat-race action on Friday and then return on Saturday for B-Mains and the $5,000-to-win, 50-lap finale!
Last year, Arkansas hot shoe and big-money chaser, Peyton Taylor, took the win in a late-afternoon program over Burl Woods, Brian Schutt, Chris Lloyd, and LaMonte, Missouri’s Cody Frazon. Taylor finished among the top ten in last week’s big-money event at Batesville Motor Speedway in Arkansas and is always a front-runner when he travels to special events.
Among others to watch for are 2018 CMS Street Stock Champion Brett Wood, former Track Champion Clayton Campbell, and teammates Burl Woods and Jim Moody, who is a former CMS Modified Champion. Note, mention of driver name does not guarantee race appearance.
Action begins on Friday, September 21st with three rounds of heat races for Street Stock competitors. The Top 6 in passing points after all three heat races are tallied, will find themselves locked in to Saturday’s a-main grid. Once these drivers clear tech for the night, they will redraw for their Saturday night starting positions for the first three rows. Mod-Lites and B-Mods will also compete in heat races, b-main(s) if needed, and 20-lap feature events. Mod-Lite and B-Mod payout may be found on the CMS website at www.centralmissourispeedway.net by clicking on the Drivers link. After the night’s events, stick around for the ‘bring your own’ beverage pit-side bonfire party and open-mic jam, music, and karaoke with Sam on the front side of the speedway.
On Saturday, September 22nd, the weekend concludes with three b-mains (subject to change based on car count) and the 50-Lap, $5,000-to-Win Street Stock Showdown! A total of 18 additional drivers will transfer to the main-event starting grid via the b-mains. Mod-Lites and B-Mods return in another exciting night of heat races, b-main(s) if needed, and 20-lap features. A Corn Hole Bean Bag Tournament will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. with a $20 Team Entry. Pre-registration is not necessary.
Detailed information for the ‘Triple S at CMS’ is conveniently located at www.centralmissouripseedway.net by clicking on the ‘Street Stock Showdown’ special-event link. There is no pre-registration needed for Street Stock drivers. Entry fee is $100 if the driver competed in at least 5 “weekly” race programs at CMS during the regular season prior to this event. Note, the July special does not count towards the five appearances! Entry fee for drivers not meeting this criteria is $150. Pit Passes are $35 each night. The entry fee does not include a Pit Pass, which are sold separately and individually each night.
