Tuscumbia, Alabama – This weekend the Long Lewis Ford Bama Super Series (B.S.S.) for Super Late Models will roar back to life with a pair of events at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama and Moulton Speedway in Moulton, Alabama.
With the first two Long Lewis Ford Bama Super Series (B.S.S.) Super Late Model events in the books, there is currently a deadlock at the top of the standings between Billy Moyer Jr. (Batesville, AR) and Jay Brinkley (Ross, TN).
In late March the Long Lewis Ford B.S.S. debuted at North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL) and Moulton Speedway (Moulton, AL) to rave reviews and a large field of cars each night. A total of 45 drivers competed in at least one event over the course of the weekend. Round #1 at North Alabama Speedway featured a tooth and nail battle between Brinkley and Moyer Jr. with Brinkley taking the narrow win, which was worth $2,000. Round #2 at Moulton Raceway saw Tony Knowles from Tyrone, Georgia lead flag-to-flag to take the $3,000 payday.
Brinkley and Moyer Jr. are currently knotted for the top spot with Chris Ragan (Ramer, TN), Brandon King (Decatur, AL), and Ben Kittrell (Mt. Pleasant, TN) rounding out the top five in the point standings with two of ten events completed.
The Long Lewis Ford B.S.S. tour returns to action with Round #3 this Friday, May 15th, 2009 at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama with a $2,000 to win/$300 to start event (40 laps).
