SpeedNet Direct Software FAQ

Why Do We Do This ?
Why would we do this?

The answer is very simple. We are positioning our website to be the most accurate and comprehensive racing news, information and results site on the Internet - bar none! That information will enable us to build an online "community" of motorsports enthusiasts including promoters, drivers, mechanics and fans.

As we increase the quantity and quality of our content we will build website traffic. With traffic comes advertising and with advertising comes money (or so we're told). Our revenue will be derived from the sale of advertising on our website and by co-branding and marketing partners who want to reach the millions of race fans world-wide.

We see the ability through our website to assist the marketing efforts of drivers and promoters alike by exposing them to a wider audience and enabling a "connection" between them and the race fan. This is how we are building an online "community" - around the information we collect about the greatest sport there is - MOTORSPORTS!

What's the catch?

We need you to upload your race results and current point standings to our website on a regular basis by clicking the "upload" button after your race event is completed. That's it. We really want to help you as a race promoter (believe it or not).

There is a "clock" built into the software that starts the moment you "post" a race result. That clock gives you a maximum of 14 days to upload that result to our website before it restricts your access to the program. Once you upload the results, the clock is reset and you can continue to use the software.

There are no hidden fees, no monthly charges, no "surprise" billings. There's no charge at all. Not even for technical support. You don't even have to buy any of the optional modules. This is NOT A DEMO version. It is a completely usable version that you are licensed to use FREE OF CHARGE!

What will the software do for me?

We've designed this software to do just about everything that a promoter needs to do to run a track or racing series. From maintaining a detailed contact database of your drivers, car owners and staff to printing 1099 tax forms, we cover it all. You can set up point and prize values for every race type and class division, do line ups, qualifying and enter race results. There are also several management reports that help you to analyze trends in driver attendance and print detailed reports on races or drivers. Check out some of the features by clicking here.

Whether it's circle track, drag racing, motocross or sports car rallies, we've got it covered. For security purposes you can password protect any of the individual modules and our database backup/restore function keeps your data safe. One other thing - the ONLY data that is sent to our website is the race results (including position, car number, driver's name and owner's name) and current point standings for each class or division (position, driver or owner's name, car number and points). The personal information that you enter in the database stays in one place - on your computer.

Does your track or series have it's own website? Are you posting the point standings or race results there? Well, we have a better solution for you! We will give you a link that you can place on your website ONE TIME and it will "mirror" the race results and point standings that you send to our website, saving you time and trouble. When you upload the new results, the information on your site will change automatically - you don't have to do another thing! Click here to request a link for your track or series today. (And there's no charge for this either!)

How do I get the software?

If you haven't already received your CD in the mail, you can request one by filling out our software request form or by calling toll free 1-866-2SPEED4

This software is available FREE OF CHARGE to every track and racing series that requests it including circle track, drag racing, motocross, power boats, sports car events, snowmobile racing, lawn mower racing, bar stool racing, R/C cars - if it has a motor and you race it we invite you to use the software!

After you install the software, be sure to download the latest update because we're always adding new features. You can access the update by clicking here.

Are there any options?

Glad you asked! We would like to tell you about some options that you might want to consider adding to the software. Now, none of these are required and our software is pretty comprehensive on it's own but you may find these low-cost additions help to make your job even easier!

One of the neatest is a Live Scoring module that lets you key in car numbers instead of writing them down on paper as they lap the track. A five-lap demo version is included with your software so you can see how it works. You can purchase that option for only $99.

Other modules include transponder and timing light interfaces, TV lineup display, an interface for track announcers, a multiple track option for promoters with more than one facility and a network version for those who have a computer network at their track. These options are very reasonably priced and are now available in our web store. You can also order by phone or e-mail and we accept company checks, money orders, MasterCard, Visa and PayPal for your convenience.

Our programmers are also available to do custom software development from making minor changes to the SpeedNet Race Management software to designing an application unique to your needs. Contact us for more information and a price quote at support@speednetdirect.com.

For pricing details, visit our Promoter Speed Shop.
What's next?

We are putting together an interface for reporters and photographers to make it easier for them to distribute news about your track or series and we would appreciate it if you would pass the word along to them. Meanwhile, you can send your news stories to news@speednetdirect.com and photographs to photos@speednetdirect.com.

Please be sure to put your promoter ID number in the subject line so we know who the story or pictures are from. (You will automatically be assigned a promoter ID number when you first connect online to our website. We will send you the ID number by mail).

We've got a lot of other things "in the works" including a way for you as a promoter to identify and market directly to your fans - so stay tuned!

How can you help?

First of all, by using the software. There's always a learning curve whenever any of us attempt something new, so don't get discouraged. It won't take you long at all to master the software. And remember, we're here to help. Send us an e-mail or give a call and we'll help get you going.

Upload your results as soon as it is practical after the race event is complete. Fans and drivers alike want to see the information as soon as it is available.

Tell your friends. Why keep this good news all to yourself? Let the other promoters in your area know about this program - they'll thank you for it!

Let us know how we can better help you. Give us your ideas for enhancement requests and let us know how we can improve our service to you as a promoter.

Email any ideas or suggestion you may have to us.
